Marriage Mentoring

Our Marriage mentoring program is just getting started. We have 13 pairs of couples who have committed to meeting monthly over the next year to work on building healthy marriages.
Too often we are unable to discuss our marriages in a way that is helpful. What barriers do we have up that prevent us from being a community that partners together to ensure faithful marriage.
I think one thing that we forget to do is remember our vows. I had our vows framed so that I can read them every time I walk by. I also try to be very intentional that when I go to a wedding I remind the brade and groom that I have witnessed their commitment and know that responsiblity comes to me as a witness to hold that couple accountable to their promises.
I guess the bottom line is that I dont want to forget that a marriage isnt just a partnership, but a sacred rite, a divinely sanctioned commitment to a person before God and the church.

Changes with bulletin

Times are changing. Snail mail is slow, expensive and a lot of work. Beginning the first of the year we plan to stop mailing the bulletin with the exception of shutins and people away from here who do not have e-mail or internet service. We will e-mail each person on our list a notice that the bulletin is up and ready for viewing with a link to the bulletin that will lead them directly to it. Please make certain we have your e-mail address and anyone else's that you might get to us so most people can recieve it right away. The bulletin will also be available on Sunday at worship. This should save us over $3,000 per year in postage and paper.
